What is the prediction market?
Beirut Coin is a prediction market with a built-in loyalty card. You add coins, call the outcomes of real events such as snowfall, chart-toppers, and local happenings, and spend what you hold at partner shops. You don’t bet against a house. You trade shares with other players in an open market, and the prices show what the crowd believes will happen.
Your coins, your account
Your coins live in your Beirut Coin account and on your loyalty card.
- You add coins by spending 25, 50, or 100. Every unit you spend becomes one Beirut Coin, instantly, one for one.
- You gain more coins when your calls are right.
- You spend coins on rewards at partner shops with your loyalty card.
- Every top-up, stake, and payout is recorded in your workspace, so you can see what you staked and what you won.
- A wrong call loses the coins you staked, so only stake what you’re comfortable losing.
- Your account is tied to your verified phone number, which is how you recover it if you switch phones.
Prices are probabilities
Every share costs between 0 and 1 coin. The price is the crowd’s belief that an outcome will happen. We show it as a number out of 100.
Yes and No prices add up to 100. If Yes is at 64, No is at 36.
The prediction process
From first look to reward, a call has seven steps.
Open your account and add coins
Sign up, then spend 25, 50, or 100 to get the same number of Beirut Coins, one for one.
Pick a market
Browse the festive markets or search for a topic you know.
Read the rules
Each market states the question, the end date, and the source that decides it.
Check the price
Yes 64 means the crowd gives it about a 64% chance. Decide whether you agree.
Choose a side and stake
Buy Yes if you think the price is too low. Buy No if you think it’s too high. Your stake buys shares.
Hold or sell
Keep your shares until the end, or sell early to lock in a gain or limit a loss.
Get paid and spend
When the market resolves, winning shares pay 1 coin each. Spend your coins in the Shopping Mall.

Trading
You trade directly with other players. Prices move as people buy and sell.
| Action | When to use it | You profit when |
|---|---|---|
| Buy Yes | You think the chance is too low | The event happens |
| Buy No | You think the chance is too high | The event doesn’t happen |
| Sell | You want to lock in gains or limit losses | The price moves your way |
Resolution
When the event ends, the market closes in four steps.
- A proposer posts a bond and asserts the winning outcome, using the source named in the market rules.
- A challenge window of about 2 hours opens. If nobody disputes the result, it finalizes automatically.
- If it’s disputed, UMA tokenholders vote on the correct outcome through a decentralized voting process.
- Once final, winning shares redeem at 1 coin ($1.00) each and losing shares are worth 0.

Your loyalty card
Every player gets one loyalty card. It holds your coin balance and shows a QR code. Buy in the Shopping Mall with your coins, then show your loyalty card at the seller and they scan it to hand over your order.
